Journaling with Jesus #3

Consider one of Jesus’ Parables. What message does it convey to you today?

Funny you should ask…We recently went over the Parable of the Talents at church, and I finally understood! You see, God gave us all talents, some more than others, but talents nonetheless.

This means that God has entrusted you with certain resources.

He has also granted you time, ability, and opportunities. He expects you not only to use what was entrusted to you, but also to multiply these gifts and never hide them out of fear.

You see, to knowingly hide what God entrusted to you, or to use your gift in a negligent manner, is denying God the glory He very much deserves. We are mere stewards of our resources and should use our talents to serve God’s purpose. We are not to just let our resources go to waste; we are to multiply what we were given and bring it back to the Lord.

Now, It is my job to figure out exactly what my “talent” is…

Also, I prayed a prayer this morning about an idea I had and want to turn into a business. However, the start-up could cost about 35,000, and that is scaring the pants off of me, to be honest. How do you know if an idea you have is from God? Like, how do you tell this is something God has planned for you, and it’s not just a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants idea? Well, anyway, I put it on God to give me the go-ahead. If it’s what he wants me to do, he will have a stranger tell me to pursue my idea. They won’t know any of the details; they will just look at me and say, “Pursue that dream or idea you have.” Not those exact words but you get what I am saying. lol

Lord, help me if it actually happens, I might seriously break down in tears right there.
